Enjoy the flavours of the Périgord Noir

Food lovers are spoilt for choice in the Périgord Noir. In Meyrals, La Merenda welcomes residents and visitors for lunch or dinner, while Un Affaire de Goûts is a good choice for a more refined evening. The surrounding villages and towns offer many more restaurants, bistros and terraces.

The region is famous for foie gras, truffles, duck and goose dishes, walnuts and local wines. Weekly markets are ideal for tasting and buying regional produce. In January, Sarlat’s truffle festival is a particularly enjoyable event.

A long lunch on a sunny terrace, dinner in an old village restaurant or a glass of wine with local cheese: in the Périgord Noir, good food is an essential part of the holiday experience.
